Signed Ake Waldemar Larsson on the back and titled: Södra Promenaden Malmö. Very fine expressionist oil by Swedish artist, Ake Waldemar Larsson who did series of small paintings featuring the old neighbourhoods in Malmo, Sweden.
The oil is framed in its authentic salon frame. A certificate of authenticity will be included with this work.

Born in Lund, Sweden in 1913. Educated at the Art School in Malmö. His artworks use many different techniques and materials: he drew with charcoal, pencil and wax, as well as painting with oils and gouache. He is best known for his series of cityscapes that depicted its streets, buildings and the lives of its population. Most of them were done in small format and he was particularly interested in the old neighbourhoods threatened by demolition or modernisation.
Ake Waldemar Larsson had about ten separate exhibitions in Malmö and received the city's cultural scholarship in 1967. When he died in 1995, he bequeathed his entire collection of his own works to the Malmö Museum.
