VINTAGE (1600s) BRITISH AXE WITH FAINT MAKER'S MARK & SOLID, WORM-WOOD HANDLE. This beautiful piece of British history is 13" long overall with a 6" head and a 5 blade, weighs 3 pounds, and dates back to the 1600s. The nicely formed original handle has worm holes from age and is very solid. There is a maker's mark on the blade but I can't tell what it is.
As you see in the photos, it is in very good condition in spite of its age.. This is out of a gentleman's collection from Edinburgh, Scotland.
