I asked the person behind the counter if they knew what it was and their guess was a helmet from World War One......... Anyhow, I have too much militaria already, someone else should enjoy this helmet. It's a beautiful, original, named helmet with the original chin strap. Obviously there are no insignias on it because of the Camo paint applied.
The leather is in good condition for it's age. Not sort but not stiff either. I did notice that the rivets that hold the liner in are loose and I don't see evidence of the sawdust on them so I think the liner must have been replaced at some point.
Regardless, I have no doubt that this helmet is 100% original. Feel free to send it back if you are not in total agreement. If you know what this is, you know how expensive they can be. It was also interesting that there was an extra clip stuck in the liner. I'm guessing for a camo net but who knows. Please feel free to ask any questions and request any other photos as well.
