Ueno Gyokusui Wood carving Hawk figurine 1919 with box Hawk from Japan. The front of the lid of the box is signed and stamped "Wooden Hawk" and the back of the box is signed and stamped "Carved in early summer of 1919, Gyokusui". On the back of the rock, there is an engraving of "Tamamizu".

There is a 5cm long crack on the left shoulder of the hawk. There are cracks and repairs from the middle toe of the left foot to the bottom of the rock. In addition, there are three minor cracks on the lower part of the rock. There are fine white stains on the wings of the eagle and the rock. The box has some age-related wear, and one of the bottom horizontal cleats on the back of the lid is missing.
