The chromolithographic plates, title and contents pages are loose. All 12 Joseph Wolf prints from the book are included. Each round print has beautiful colors and detail and is set in a fanciful gilt printed frame. The prints are mounted on gilt edge stiff pages (boards). The contents page lists the birds with lines from poems by Coleridge, Keats, Milton, Wordsworth and so on. Title page lists publisher Thomas Bosworth, London and Putnam & Co.

Front blank page shows Phebe R. Was given this book January 1, 1854. Plates (pages) measure 7 x 9 3/4 inches (34.5 cm x 17.5 cm).

This listing is for all loose pages and boards. Mostly excellent condition, some with slight corner, edge wear.

The lithographic prints are of exceptional quality. Joseph Wolf was considered leading nature and wildlife artist.
