This rare carved wood depicts a "behique" (shaman) in a trace state, seated on a Duho (carved seat) engaged in a Cohoba ritual. Was a shamanic ritual in which the. Mediated between men and the gods to ensure the well-being of the individuals and society. Communication with gods was achieved by snuffing a hallucinogenic drug called cohoba.

Dimensions: 10.5" Height x 6.75" Width (Shoulder to shoulder) x 3.5 Depth. Condition: Antique - wear and patina is commensurate with its age.
