Pre-1950s VTG Wood with Glass Door Shelf/Wall Cabinet from Doc's Office Vienna

  

This Antique Wooden Cabinet was gifted to my late husband in 1955 by his mentor/med school professor when he finished medical studies in Vienna, Austria. AGE: At that time the professor had practiced medicine over three decades and taught about eighteen years. The cabinet contained bottles with compounded meds. Old meds were tossed my husband displayed collectible bottles and the tins seen in some of the pictures. My husband honored his promise to his professor to keep the cabinet in his medical office for the duration - 1962 until 2009 when he retired.

My husband owned it from 1955 to date--we do not know how long his Professor/Mentor owned it; he used it in his office until he gifted it to my husband. Where Made - By Whom. Vienna, Austria (Based on best information available to us).

Donor/Doctor lived practiced and taught in Vienna, Austria. Depth = 4-1/4 Inches at outer Base. Depth = 3-1/8 Inches - Inside. Weight = A tad under 4 LBS.

Metal Hinges, door Knob & Latch. Wood on and around Glass is Satinwood. Cabinet - Mahogany or Stained Eastern Yellow Heart Wood (Unclear).

Exterior, Interior and Door/Glass are in great condition. There is a small nick to one corner of the base... Interior is a bit primitively finished but solid. The two wooden shelves and the wooden strips on which the shelves rest are detached -- The shelves and strips are in good condition on the floor of the cabinet.
