Papua New Guinea Spirit Canoe from Estate
Papua New Guinea Spirit Canoe from Estate. This wild carving sat in my parents' living room since the 1990s when they took a trip to visit native villages along the Sepik river in Papua New Guinea. The piece shows evidence of some cracks and repairs but in spite of these flaws, it has a striking presence with multiple carved figures, shells, fiber and painted imagery. It is LARGE measuring 8 feet 3 inches long by 11 inches high at the highest point and 10 inches wide. I live in Virginia Beach, VA and would be happy to arrange a meeting at a public place maintaining social distancing protocols to give you the canoe.
