OAK "ROOT" BOWL POSSIBLY ENGLISH EARLY 1800'S FROM NEW ENGLAND very nice oak "root" bowl. Has a deep dark patina from age & use.

Has knots, crevices, dents, splits. Bowl is out of round due to shrinkage. One larger crack along bottom.

Bowl is intact, very secure & stable. A root bowl is similar to a burl bowl except that it comes from a growth on the root instead of the limb or trunk of the tree. A root bowl is heavier & denser than a burl bowl but still has the interesting graining & structure that a burl bowl has. Please review all photos as they are part of the description.
