LUIS POTOSI was born on September 20, 1937, in San Antonio de Ibarra, Imbabura, Ecuador, a town that has been the birthplace and site of great artists. Very nice wood carving created, signed, and dated (1990) by master artist Luis Potosi. It's been taken care of and is in surprisingly great shape having come from Ecuador over 30 years ago. Luis Potosí, the son of humble farmers in the area, is a teacher who has created the new craft school in San Antonio de Ibarra. It has raised the cry of protest airy compared to the traditional and stereotypical to make the great leap from craft to art in large scale.
