Braque was a French painter and sculptor, who together with Pablo Picasso was the initiator of Cubism. Analytical cubism was born between 1909 and 1910, thanks to Picasso and Braque who realize that, by breaking up the pictorial surface too much, its individual fragments can no longer be recomposed virtually and the work gets closer and closer to the characters of abstractionism. In fact, the Cubists do not want to lose the recognizability of the object. These ideas will lead them into synthetic cubism, an evolution of the analytic starting from 1912, until 1914, when Braque was recalled to the front. With the collaboration of Juan Gris, they elaborate a series of techniques to get out of this paradox they have stumbled upon by taking their technique of representing reality to its extreme consequences.
They introduce fragments of reality into the picture, of real objects combined with painted parts (collage technique), using masks with numbers or letters (mixed technique, stencil type); they insert "trompe l'il" and reproduce the effect of the wood grain with the technique of the comb over the fresh color. Color fidelity of photos presented is not guaranteed.
