Folk art Americana wooden carrying container, made from log with leather handle

  

Unusual piece of folk art Americana carry tote. The dimensions are 11" by 6" by 6.

It's made from a log and has a leather handle. The size of the carved out area is rather shallow so the tote is very heavy. There are decorative nails on it. So it didn't hold very much for its size and weight.

The only thing I could see it used for is a farrier's nail carrier. It wouldn't hold many nails.
