Very likely from the area of Kopi, on the Sumba island, or possibly from Timor. Protector of the Home against Evil Spirits, this well patinated artwork is in the shape of a standing male figure. Top of the head and standing base have large holes, elements which indicates this artwork was on use in its island of origin. The quality of the craftsmanship is simply outstanding, a fine artwork rare to come around. Will surely seduce fine tribal art collectors.
