Document Box 9 Compartment Chest Apothecary TABLE TOP Cabinet Wood Walnut Mahog

  

He was an antique turn of the century table top cabinet with nine open compartments on the inside behind two hinged doors with brass hinges and has the original key and working lock. Great piece with multiple uses.

We thought it possibly could be an apothecary or document box of some sort, or possibly in a hotel in the late 1800s. Both doors open and close properly as does the locks and unlocks easily. Looks to be made of walnut or mahogany and has an old finish. Behind the old finish on each of the doors, there is book matched flamed burl mahogany on the panels of each door.

This cabinet measures 12 5/8" inches wide x 10 1/2" inches tall x 9 3/4 inches deep, front to back. The only issue we see as seen in our photos is on the back 1 1/2 of the top and bottom and sides the walnut is a lighter color - not sure if it is original or not but looks to be from when it was made.

This one makes a great countertop cabinet.
