Clare Leighton Wood Engraving August Harvesting From The Farmer's Year 1933

  
On offer, we have Clare Leighton's "August: Harvesting". This is a woodblock etching from her book "The Farmer's Year" published in 1933. This shows 3 men at work with fields as far as the eye can see. On thick off-white paper, this measures 11" X 13 3/4" with the image 8" X 10 3/4". The back has the title printed "August: Harvesting". This is signed lightly in pencil "Clare Leighton", but that is not her handwriting. We believe this in excellent vintage condition. The print is bright, bold, clean and clear. The paper is a bit rough on the right edge and slightly toned in the margins.

The back has tape residue at the top where this was once mounted. It has been handled oner the years and has a few light wrinkles.
