19th Century Mortar and Pestle Carved From Block of Maple 8 inches by 6 Inches. This antique mortar and pestle from the 1800s would have been found either in an apothecary for preparing medicines, or in a kitchen for preparing herbs and spices and other ingredients during meal preparation.

Both the mortar and pestle are handmade from maple hardwood and display their original finishes. The mortar is 9 inches high by 6 inches at its widest point. The pestle is 10 inches long.
