Erben Oberammergau original sticker on bottom. Bought in Germany in 1962. The History of Georg Lang Sel Erben Oberammergau is famed in the whole world mainly for the Passion Play, which has been staged there every ten years since 1634. The company of Georg Lang sel.

Erben played an important part in the community at the foot of the Kofel mountain achieving world fame as a center of the woodcarving craft. The title Georg Lang sel. Erben under which the business had been running since the death of the founder in 1821 has been retained to this date. According their website around 1900 the company worked closely with Munich artists, who either, as in the case of Jakob Bradl, created models for the series production, or had their sculpture assignments made in the Oberammergau workshop, as did Anton Pruska, in the case of the large figures for the Munich Rupert Church.
