French Riviera Measurements: 19 x 24 inches without frame. 24 x 29 inches with frame. Signed Mayodon, Jean to the lower right and dated 1930. Inscribed in pencil on the back: Grasse, 1930 and with the artists studio address in Sèvres, France.
Superb modernist street ally view from the French medieval town of Grasse, located just north of Cannes. The town is known for its narrow streets and ancient architecture and is the perfume capital of the world.One of its kind and a collectors dream. The oil has recently been professionally cleaned. The original golden ornamented gallery frame has minor scratches due to the age. Jean Mayodon (French, 1893) Ally street from Grasse.
Measurements: 19 x 24 inches without frame. A certificate of authenticity will be included with this work. Member of the Society of Decorative Artists and the Salon dAutomne. He produced monumental works (decorative panels, sculptures, fountains, fireplaces) of irreproachable quality. He lived and worked in his personal studio at Sèvres most of his life.
