1700's era carved Christian Icon / Jesus of Prauge wood statue from Spain RARE

  

I will describe it to the best of my ability , but nearly every item i sell is from 50 to 100 years old and will show some sign of wear. Is for a unique hand carved wooden statue....... It has a bit of paper on the back that says the is from Spain and decorated with original paint and a carved beaded necklace with a Prague metal token on it as well....... This token is 2 sided and along with the paper on the back , provides all of the provenance i have.

The folk art figure measures..... 12 inches long and about...... It has a place on the back to hang it up..... I left the old bit of cloth that it hung from on the back...... I would not think the cloth is original thought it is old.

I have made no attempt to clean it , or even dust it myself. I hope this old primitive will appeal to someone who likes very old examples of statuary...... We USUALLY have around 500 antique , odd , unusual & collectible items listed in our.....
